Scholarship PROGRAM

The purpose of the Women in Public Finance Award & Scholarship is to:

  • Recognize women that are college-bound high school students or in college, or graduate school who have exhibited scholastic achievement and demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Support women wanting to advance within the public finance industry by obtaining additional industry specific certifications.
  • Encourage young women to consider careers in public finance.
  • Provide an opportunity for award recipients to meet women established in the public finance industry and learn about various career options and opportunities available to them.

Award and Scholarship Overview
Women in Public Finance maintains a scholarship program that provides an annual opportunity to receive an Award and Scholarship. 

To qualify and apply for the Award and Scholarship, the applicant must, at a minimum:

  1. Identify as a woman;
  2. Plan to enroll or are enrolled in an institute of higher education or industry specific exam in the summer/fall of 2021;
  3. If applying for a scholarship to support higher education must demonstrate good academic standing;
  4. Exhibit leadership skills through extracurricular activities, volunteer positions, and/or work experience;
  5. Have an interest in pursuing a public finance-related career, which may include the fields of finance, banking, government, non-profit, or law; and
  6. Complete and submit the following documents, which comprise one (1) complete scholarship packet. It is preferred that documents be submitted as a single PDF:

a. The 2021 Scholarship Application Form (see attached)
b. The Essay Submission (see attached)
c. If applying for a scholarship to support higher education, copies of your official academic transcripts that reflect no less than [three years of completed course work]; however, a longer academic history is welcomed. Transcripts will only be accepted in PDF format.
d. If applying for a scholarship to support an industry specific exam, provide a copy of your resume that details works experience.
