In keeping with its tradition of supporting young women in their aspirations of achieving successful careers in the finance industry, Women in Public Finance is now accepting applications for its 2020 Award & Scholarships.  The scholarship deadline is June 1, 2020! 

The purpose of the Women in Public Finance Award & Scholarship is to:

  • Recognize college-bound high school females who have exhibited scholastic achievement (preferably with a demonstrated aptitude in mathematics) and demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Encourage young women to consider careers in finance and, more specifically, public finance.
  • Provide an opportunity for award recipients to meet women established in the public finance industry and learn about various career options and opportunities available to them.

Award and Scholarship Overview
Women in Public Finance maintains a scholarship program that provides, annually, up to ten recipients with an Award and Scholarship. 

Application:
To qualify and apply for the Award and Scholarship, the applicant must, at a minimum:

  1. Be a college-bound high school senior graduating high school in spring/summer 2020 and planning to attend an Institution of higher education in fall 2020; provided that students graduating in spring/summer 2020 and planning to take a “gap” semester or year, or students who graduated in spring/summer 2019 and took a gap year and are planning to enroll in fall 2020 are also eligible to apply);
  2. Minimum of 3.0 G.P.A. or equivalent;
  3. Exhibit leadership skills through extracurricular activities, volunteer positions, and/or work experience;
  4. Have an interest in pursuing a public finance related career in finance, government, nonprofits or law; and
  5. Complete and submit the 2020 Award and Scholarship application form, the required essay, and a copy of your most recent official high school transcript (NOTE: if you are unable to obtain an official transcript due to school closures, an unofficial transcript will be accepted) VIA E-MAIL to scholarship@wpfc.com. The application must be RECEIVED no later than 11:59pm, Pacific Daylight Time on June 1, 2020.

Women in Public Finance will not consider applications that are submitted by means other than electronic submission to scholarship@wpfc.com, that are incomplete or that arrive late, regardless of the reason.
