POSITION:  Senior Financial Analyst

SALARY:  $71,227.00 – $110,343.00 Annually

We are looking for someone that specializes in complex analytical, budgeting and accounting functions as they relate to all Port businesses. Make recommendations on decisions of considerable impact or consequences involving highly specialized and/or technical areas requiring application and interpretation of data, facts, procedures, policies, and laws and in-depth understanding of all aspects of the Port’s business. Develop key performance indicators, financial metrics, and analytical methodologies

  • Collaborate with project teams and key stakeholders across all Port business lines and departments to develop complex financial analyses and forecasts
  • Develop scenario-based and what-if analyses to illustrate sensitivities to key assumptions
  • Translate complex and ambiguous business problems to simple analytical frameworks
  • Provide problem-focused analyses that anticipate impending decisions and illustrate trade-offs
  • Work closely with others to create or improve financial insights and analytical capabilities
  • Coordinate with Port’s external stakeholders on complex financial issues and other initiatives
  • Develop rate methodologies for existing and new businesses
  • Provide financial results in a summary format for consideration by senior management and Executive Team
  • Create and manage existing financial forecast models to monitor liquidity and various metrics and provide insights into financial performance and sustainability
  • Develop and administer short and long-term project funding strategies for the organization to ensure optimal utilization of resources.
  • Review and recommend the optimal utilization of available funding sources and complete funding capacity for funding sources
  • Manage forecast models to help inform timing and size of new debt issuances
  • Perform examinations of the adequacy and effectiveness of financial management practices and policies and where needed recommend changes to enhance operating efficiencies
  • Provide reports, presentations and training material to demonstrate, communicate and promote the organization’s financial goals and strategies
  • Support implementation of new software systems


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Master’s degree desired. 5 years’ experience as senior financial analyst OR any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties (required)
  • Advanced knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting methodologies, financial modeling, financial and accounting systems i.e. JDEdwards (required)
  • Accustomed to accounting practices, financial reporting and budget management (required)
  • Familiarity with marine and aviation businesses, real estate and business development as well as Port funding sources and supporting bond issuances (desired)
  • NOTE: Candidates with fewer years of experience will be considered at an Analyst II level
  • This position is full-time regular, non-represented and exempt from overtime

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to present information at all levels of the organization
  • Skilled at research and analyses of relevant factors, ability to draw logical conclusions and make recommendations based on findings
  • Prepare decision items for presentations to Business Lines, Executive Team and Commission meetings
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
