Pay Range       :  $60,000 – $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications

Job Summary:

Kitsap PUD is currently seeking a Communications Specialist. This position will serve as liaison between the PUD, the public and the media and will be responsible for the PUD’s public relations and community engagements.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience relevant to the responsibilities outlined below.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in business administration, communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or related field with 3+ years of experience in a public relations/communications role.
  • A non-related college degree with 5 years of proven performance in a related field.



  • Develop and execute KPUD’s communication plan to support organizational goals and initiatives.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for content development, advertising, public relations, events management, and social media.
  • Coordinate the redesign of and manage the content for KPUD’s website. Review, compile, and post information to the website to ensure it is kept current, relevant, and informative.
  • Monitor various news publications and media for articles and coverage of utility issues relevant to the District. Compile and provide this information for KPUD employees, management, and commissioners.
  • Coordinate the development of public outreach efforts of Board approved community or sponsored events.
  • Assist all departments in the creation of communication materials, including press releases and the District newsletter.
  • Participate in special projects as directed by the General Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.
