APPLICATION FOR BOARD MEMBERSHIP
WOMEN IN PUBLIC FINANCE

Women in Public Finance is currently accepting letters of interest from women interested in being named to the Board of Directors for Women in Public Finance for a term beginning January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2011. If you are interested in being considered, please review the below information and submit a letter of interest by October 31, 2008.

Background Information

Women in Public Finance is a nonprofit, educational and professional networking organization for women in the municipal finance industry. Founded in 1997, Women in Public Finance started out with a focus on the mid west which has expanded over the years to draw interest and participation from all over the United States. Participants in our organization include state and local government issuers, investment bankers, attorneys, financial advisors, rating agency analysts, bond insurers, and trust officers among others. Each year Women in Public Finance holds a two day conference to bring together these women professionals for an educational and networking forum. In addition, we typically host one or more philanthropic, community involvement or networking events each year.

Board Membership

Women in Public Finance is governed by a 15 member volunteer Board of Directors made up of women of diverse backgrounds in various public finance professions. Each Director serves for a three year term, and each year the then current Board elects five new Directors to replace the five Directors whose terms are ending that year. As the Board is a working Board, Directors are expected to commit time to Board activities, including participating in one or more Board meetings each month, serving on several Board committees and participating actively in the annual Women in Public Finance Conference and philanthropic, community and networking events hosted by the organization.
